Age: 27 Appearance: HERE History: HERE Personality: — — — LACK OF SELF WORTH Feeling useless is one of Tristan's greatest fears in a world where magic is your best weapon and your greatest source of joy. After losing his own magic for nearly two years, Tristan knows intimately what it's like to feel fear, loneliness, and envy, the last of which he has still in spades even within the gaining of his new spectral abilities. All of his friends' abilities are still very much intact, and also incredibly offensive. While Tris doesn't dislike his abilities and knows they're helpful in a different way, he's often times envious of the strong and their ability to charge forth into a fight without fear. It's caused Tris to think very little of himself, even now as he's in the process of gaining new powers. After the accident, making something of himself was difficult and put a wear on his sense of self worth that he didn't have to worry about before. While he is most certainly electric in personality, quick to smile right up to his eyes, he's prone to bouts of casual self-deprecation without a moment's hesitation, believing himself to be the most expendable, even referring to what he does as "cheap magic" instead of the real thing sometimes. In time, he knows he'll get stronger, but he wants it all at once instead of at a slow trickle, and he finds it frustrating to deal with. — — — SMOTHERING While being protective to his friends and family is a very positive trait, it can be smothering at times. When someone proclaims that they're about to do something incredibly stupid, trust Tristan to catch wind of it and immediately protest, to the point where it is damn near exhausting to argue with him. This over-bearing nature can make Tris a hypocritical jerk at times. When he tells someone to stop pushing themselves or to please not do the stupid thing, he goes and does something that's just as stupid instead. It's selfish, it's careless, and it's all based around his lack of self worth that's stuck around for quite some time now. He'd rather sacrifice himself, the weakest of the group, to keep the strongest thriving. That's the way the world works, right? — — — CO-DEPENDENT When you sign up for a friendship with Tris, you sign for life. The only bad thing about that is that he's going to do whatever it takes to make sure harm doesn't come your way, even if it makes you angry at him. After all, his friends are some of his greatest anchors, pivotal parts of who he is as a person and he can be incredibly codependent when it comes to leaning on them, breaking down without them and finding himself feeling incredibly overwhelmed and locked into place by helplessness. Tristan falls in love easily, and it isn't that he's flighty, it's just that his heart is incredibly large. For a long time he lived within a small group of teenagers his age who made up each other's entire world. It's very much the same where Tristan's emotional connections are overwhelmingly smothering immediately from the get go. + + + DETERMINED Tristan, for all the forces far bigger than himself that have tried to bring him to heel, refuses to be knocked down. Determination is something that his friends know him for, and even in the worst of times, it's hard to find Tristan wearing a look of defeat on his face. When his magic was ripped from him and he was expelled from university in Spain, Tristan refused to sit around a mope, instead heading back home to double down on his studies and to regroup. When you tell Tristan he can't do something for one reason or another (no matter how good a reason it is), he'll say that he most definitely can. Much of Tristan's desire to learn stems from the fact that he is friends with a bunch of adventure-seeking, trouble-making people who tend to get into deep shit more often than not. He has an unbreakable determination that comes in the form of devotion to those he forms strong bonds with, the sort of love that knows no bounds, whether that be sleepless nights or expending himself far beyond his abilities. He just really doesn't know how to stay down, and will persist. Powers and Abilities: » Phantom Radio » Psychometry Tristan is capable of perceiving various ideas, inferences, emotions, and memories by touching a personal object that belongs to someone, alive or dead. » Holy Light Manifests as soft motes of animated light or threads of light that come from his fingertips. Can infuse an object or person with warmth. This ability is the only remnant of Tristan's leftover heavenly power and is fairly weak. It's casting stats are similar to the Dancing Lights cantrip from DND. » Witchcraft Tristan went to school to study the ins and outs of witchcraft. He was also taught by his mother, who is a very powerful hearth witch and fortune teller. He's well-versed in divination, exorcism, and sacred geometry, which in his world is the utilization of various line and glyph patterns and placements to create powerful spells for healing, creation, transmutation, and transport, though the latter most is not his strongest suit. He is also knowledgeable in various herbs and holistic healing remedies as well. And he's not a hack. He knows his shit. » Magical Sensitivity/Magical Bleed He's sensitive to others who have magic and can pick up on who or what has it. During moments of extreme duress, Tristan may lower the temperature of wherever he is, causing it to become rather uncomfortably cold within the area he is in. » Amplifying Tattoos He's covered in them, and they each do a special something to his magic. Some are old and defunct while others are fairly new and assist in amplifying his new magic (and some are just plain sentimental.) Inventory: Object #1 » Luci, a small black cat that has the ability to appear and disappear without a trace, even going so far as to melt into and out of shadows. He'd be harmless except for the fact that he is a cat and he does have claws and teeth. When Tris focuses, he is able to see through Luci's eyes for a short amount of time, but it requires focus and he can't be doing anything else. Object #2 » Tarot cards tucked into a little cloth roll. Object #3 » A pair of heeled boots that he is wearing that on the underside carry a special glyph.
